Welcome everyone to my new blog for Roadside-Pro! For the ones who don't know me, I'm Taylor as in (he, him, his). I own a local roadside assistance and towing business name Roadside-Pro. It's a brand-new venture that came to me at the right time and on time as everything good in my life does. So that being said I think it's only fair to dedicate my very first professional blog to one of the most interesting fellas I have ever met. Of course I use the term "interesting" loosely. I met this guy ironically in December of 2012. Here it is exactly 12 years later; he and I remain in distant contact only reaching out to one another occasionally for some of some of the hardest laughter that one could ever experience that's humanely possible. Let me introduce you to Billy M. from Ocalla, Florida. We met while I was still in the car business, he and I hit it off great. A weird yet unique friendship evolved very quickly. I have always been a believer that people do cross paths in life for a purpose, whether it's for a moment, a few days, or many years being in that person's life. Upon meeting, Billy and I quietly assessed each other and came to an unspoken agreement that we approved of each other, and we could be acquaintances. 😆 Billy was in town for a week or so while he was on a traveling sales team where I was currently a sales manager at a dealership in Birmingham, Al. that I was running at the time. We hired this team to come in and do a staffed sales event. I grew up in the car business and turned it into a professional career for 17 years. Billy was fairly new to the car game but we both knew he had talent to make some money. Well, after the week had passed and the sun had set, so did Billy and his team. Off to another city and another sale for those guys. We stayed in contact and within a month or two I found myself parting ways with that current dealership. I had pondered on what "life on the road' as a traveling car salesman was really like, so I called (Ryan) a buddy that I had met back somewhere between 2006 to 2008 at another dealership I was working at. During that the time he and I became friends and remained in contact. Ryan ran one of the strongest sales teams I had ever encountered. It just so happened Ryan and his team were running a sale about 5 to 6 hours south of my hometown and he invited me down to make some money and hang out since we hadn't seen each other in a few years. I accepted the offer and asked if I could bring a guy that had good sales potential that I felt like he could do well at the sale. Ryan said sure as long as he can sell, if not, he would be my problem, and I'd have to help him close his sales, my thought was "ok Ryan no problem," you know that's what I do, so that's not really a form of punishment for making a potential bad judgement call on this guy lol. At this time, I phoned up Billy and checked to see what his schedule was like and if he wanted to hit the road to meet me, then we could ride down south to the coast for a week or so for a sale. Billy jumped on the idea and at such a short notice within 24 to 48 hours we were on our way to the coast. The reason this one is dedicated to Billy is we used the term" we're professional food bloggers" many times when at that time neither one of us were even bloggers. It's an inside joke only he and I will ever only know the true dept and extent of what chaos that brought later on that week. Heck, I don't even know if I had ever even left a Google or Yelp review for a restaurant or food at that time period in my life, but I have many times since then. So, here's to you Billy and my official BLOG!!! 😅😀😀LOL
